Climb aboard the 7 Lakes Alliance’s Floating Classroom to learn about invasive aquatic plants within our watershed. On this boat ride we will drive to the mouth of Great Meadow Stream, Robbins Mill Stream, and Rome Trout Brook, where there are active infestations of Variable-Leaf Milfoil. Our Invasive Aquatics Coordinator will talk about how the infestation started, the work that has been done since to reduce the infestation, and what you can do to help prevent the further spread of milfoil and other invasive species.

Meeting Location:

This program will meet at 7 Lakes Alliance, 137 Main Street, Belgrade, ME 04917. Here, we will gather and review boat safety, board the 7 Lakes Alliance Floating Classroom (22 ft pontoon boat), and venture out onto Great Pond.

What to Bring:

  • sun protection
  • water
  • snacks

7 Lakes Alliance will provide lifejackets, pens, and booklets for all attendees
