About The Event
During this trek with Maine Master Naturalist Liz Koucky, we will follow the high-gradient rocky brook up to its source, a kettle-hole bog and its surrounding wetland. We will ‘rock-hop’, stopping to observe fast-moving water flow. The view from this small pond features Round Top, Sanders Hill, and Roberts Hill in the Kennebec Highlands. This activity is intended for experienced hikers, and requires balance and agility. The approximate total distance for this trip is 1.5 miles.
Participants should wear warm clothes, layers are recommended, and sturdy boots/waterproof shoes. Hiking poles are recommended but not required.
Please park at the Round Top Trailhead where Liz Koucky and 7 Lakes Staff will meet you. 7 Lakes Staff will shuttle folks roughly 1 mile down Watson Pond Rd to Beaver Brook.
Please email sally.whittington@7lakesalliance.org with any questions.
