SUMMARY:Fun with Ferns on Mt. Phillip
DESCRIPTION:Have fun learning all about ferns on the Mt. Phillip trail. \nBridge bordered by ferns \nJoin Maine Master Naturalist Deb Stahler to learn about the wonders of ferns. This walk will start at the Mt. Phillip Lower Trailhead and will follow the connector trail between the Upper and Lower trailheads. This area is wet\, which ferns appreciate\, so dress appropriately. We will be on level ground\, and on board walks\, and walking fairly slowly to fully appreciate the nature around us. Ferns are some of our oldest vascular plants and there are about 60 different species in Maine\, and will encounter a few common species on this walk. Deb Stahler graduated from the Maine Master Naturalist Program in 2020 and has been leading walks since then. \n  \nParking\nMeet at the Mt. Phillip Lower Trailhead on route 225\, just a quarter mile south west of the Mt. Phillip Upper Trailhead. \n		\n			Directions & trail map		\n\n  \nEvent Policies\n\nWe ask everyone attending 7 Lakes Alliance events to treat people\, plants\, and animals with respect.\n7 Lakes staff may be taking pictures during this event.
