Low-impact Timber Harvest Tour of the Kelley Property

7 Lakes invites you to tour an ecologically conscious low-impact timber harvest in a mixed hardwood stand in the Kennebec Highlands region. Learn from a professional forester, logger and stewardship team about efforts to elevate the environmental and ecological standards of this small harvest and how specific practices contribute to and monitor sustainable forest management. The tour will last roughly 2 hours. Participants will need to walk on uneven ground and slash from logging operations. RSVP and directions will be sent prior. We will meet in Vienna, usually the Post Office at the corner of Route 41 and Kimball Pond Road, to safely carpool to the site with less than a 10 minute drive.
