For many years, 7 Lakes Alliance has been managing a small Japanese knotweed infestation at Mt. Phillip by hand pulling. Join us on Thursday, May 29th at 12pm for a workday where we will address this spring’s new growth of knotweed. Work will focus on cutting and pulling stems and removing as many roots as possible. Japanese knotweed spreads through fragmentation, so all plant matter will be bagged up and disposed of properly.

What to Bring:

  • Long pants and close toed shoes (we recommend long sleeves too)
  • Gloves
  • Food and water
  • Bug spray
  • Sunscreen and bug protection if desired

Driving Directions to Trailhead: A parking lot is located on the north side of Route 225, directly across from Starbird Lane, 1.5 miles east of Rome Corner (the junction of Routes 27 and 225).
