Guided by Maine Master Naturalist Julia Hanauer-Milne and 7 Lakes Alliance staff Sally Whittington, we will paddle up stream from the Wings Mills Dam to look for birds that live in and around this winding marsh ecosystem.
Things to bring
- Sun protection
- Paddle Craft (canoe, kayak, paddle board)
- 7 Lakes Alliance has one canoe that can be borrowed for this event. Please email sally.whittington@7lakesalliance.org to inquire.
- Binoculars if you have them
- Water and snacks to be out on the water for a few hours
- Recommended to bring a change of clothes
Meeting location
Park in the large parking lot at theWings Mills Dam, located off Wings Mills Road in Belgrade. Exact location: 44°25’59.5″N 69°54’04.7″W, can be put into your GPS to bring you to the parking lot.
Event Policies
- We ask everyone attending 7 Lakes Alliance events to treat people, plants, and animals with respect.
- 7 Lakes staff may be taking pictures during this event. If you would not like to be photographed, please let staff know during the event or contact staff ahead of time.
- Pets will not be allowed at this event.
- Safety is our primary concern. If you are acting in an unsafe way, 7 Lakes Alliance will ask you to leave the event.
