Workshop Description

Join 7 Lakes Alliance for a workshop about reducing erosion and pollution through best practices. Coffee, snacks and lunch will be provided.

This workshop is $20 per person to cover lunch and building space. Please pay via cash, card, or check at registration.

Funding for this workshop is, in part, provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act. The funding is administered by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection in partnership with EPA.

8:30 AM: Doors Open

9:00 AM: Water Quality 101 – Matt Farragher, 7 Lakes Lake Scientist

9:30 AM: Septics & Soils – Dave Rocque, Retired State Soil Scientist

10:15 AM: Storm Water Run-off & Erosion – Alex Wong, Maine DEP

10:45 AM: Ecosystem Services of Buffers & Native Plants – Gary Fish, State Horticulturist

11:30 AM: Lunch

After Lunch: Buffer Tour / Planting Demo

 

Workshop Location

This workshop will be held at the 7 Lakes Alliance Building located at 137 Main Street, Belgrade Lakes, ME 04918. Parking is available on Main Street and at the Village Green Parking Lot near the Sunset Grille.
