Step into the beauty of blueberry barrens in the fall and join Maine Master Naturalist Liz Koucky for a guided hike on Vienna Mountain. This hike will take us onto conserved land in Vienna, ME that is covered in low-bush blueberry plants. We will follow old farm roads that will take us deeper into the barrens where, on clear days, views to the west reveal the White Mountains and views to the east show Great Pond.
Registration for this event is required due to limited parking availability.
Parking Location
This program will be held on Vienna Mountain, located on Vienna Mountain Rd, Vienna, ME 04360. Approximately 1.1 miles up Vienna Mountain Road from its intersection with Route 41, there is a dirt parking area on the right where we will park (44°32’42.1″N 69°58’18.7″W). 7 Lakes Alliance staff will be there to help facilitate parking. We will then carpool approximately one more mile up the road where we will park at the red farmhouse owned by the State of Maine. Note that Vienna Mountain Road is a gravel road, and we will be hiking and parking on public land owned by the State of Maine Bureau of Public Lands.
What to bring
