Guided by 7 Lakes Alliance staff Josie Miller, we will paddle north from the Long Pond Boat Launch to see unique plants in this wetland ecosystem.
Things to bring
- Sun protection
- Paddle Craft (canoe, kayak, paddle board)
- 7 Lakes Alliance has one canoe that can be borrowed for this event. Please email sally.whittington@7lakesalliance.org to inquire.
- Binoculars if you have them
- Water and snacks to be out on the water for a couple hours
- Recommended to bring a change of clothes
Meeting location
Park at the Long Pond Boat Launch located on Castle Island Road, just west of Castle Island Camps. These coordinates can be put directly into your GPS to bring you to the launch: 44°30’43.0″N 69°54’45.7″W. Plan to meet 5-10 minutes before 10 am so we have time to get gear ready and check the paddle craft over.
Event Policies
- We ask everyone attending 7 Lakes Alliance events to treat people, plants, and animals with respect.
- 7 Lakes staff may be taking pictures during this event. If you would not like to be photographed, please let staff know during the event or contact staff ahead of time.
- Pets will not be allowed at this event.
- Safety is our primary concern. If you are acting in an unsafe way, 7 Lakes Alliance will ask you to leave the event.
