Hop on our floating classroom to get a front row seat to LakeSmart properties on Messalonskee Lake. This program, led by LakeSmart and Friends of Messalonskee representative Janna Townsend, will follow the shoreline of Messalonskee Lake, looking at properties that have received a LakeSmart award and discussing the importance of reducing erosion into the lakes.

LakeSmart

LakeSmart is a state-wide education and outreach program that promotes managing lakefront properties in a water quality friendly manor. LakeSmart is the flagship program of Maine Lakes, partnered with 7 Lakes Alliance as a regional hub and your local lake association.

The Floating Classroom has limited capacity so please register for this event.

The rain date for this event is July 28th, at 10am.

Meeting Location:

This program will meet at the Sidney Boat Launch, located at the end of Hosta Lane in Sidney. A 7 Lakes representative will be there to meet the group and board the Floating Classoom.

What to Bring:

• sun protection
• water & snacks
• binoculars if you want them

7 Lakes Alliance will provide lifejackets which are required to be warn by attendees at all time during this event.

• 7 Lakes staff may be taking pictures during this event. If you would not like to be photographed, please let staff know during the event or contact staff ahead of time.
• Pets will not be allowed at this event.
• Safety is our primary concern. If you are acting in an unsafe way, 7 Lakes Alliance will ask you to leave the event.
