Reflect on the Spring Solstice by spending time being present, surrounded by nature. Join Constance Woodworth from WorthIt Nature and Forest Therapy Connections on a slow, mindful walk on The Mountain Trail. This walk is intended as a way to slow down, bring attention to the senses, and experience the environment with deeper connection.

Trail Description

The hike will start at The Mountain Trailhead and head north on the Main Trail for approximately 0.5 miles. At that point we will turn west onto the Long Pond Loop where we will pause for tea and a moment of reflection. We will then continue the Long Pond Loop back to the Main Trail and head south back to the parking lot. The approximate total distance for this hike is 1.6 miles.

Trailhead Directions:

Approximately one mile north of Belgrade Lakes Village on Route 27, turn east onto Mountain Drive; a parking area is located at 0.3 miles on the left (north) side of Mountain Drive. Look for a blue sign with the trail name and 7 Lakes Alliance logo.

Recommended Gear:

  • Dress in layers. We will be walking and stopping at times, so be sure to dress for Maine’s spring weather.
  • Hiking boots will be recommended on this trip. It is difficult to predict what the trail conditions will be on the day of this event. An email with updated trail conditions will be send to those who register closer to the event.
  • Hiking/trekking poles can be helpful when walking on uneven surfaces. They are especially useful when the trail is covered in snow or mud.
  • Depending on weather, we may recommend snowshoes or micro-spikes. An email will be sent to registrants before the event with an update on trail conditions.
