Join 7 Lakes Alliance for a day of trail maintenance on our scenic Hoyt Island Preserve.

Participants will enjoy a boat ride across Great Pond on the 7 Lakes Education Boat, then commence work on Hoyt Island, clearing a walking path on the western side of the property. Tasks will include cutting brush, clearing blowdown, and smoothing trail surface. Please note that this workday involves a boat ride to and from the worksite, so participants will be required to stay for the duration of the event.
What to bring:
- Close toed shoes
- Pants
- Gloves
- Food and water to be outside for the day
- Sun protection
- Loppers and a small hand saw (optional, 7 Lakes has tools as well)
7 Lakes Alliance will provide lifejackets for all attendees. Life jackets must be worn at all times while on the floating classroom.
Meeting Location:
This program will meet at 7 Lakes Alliance, 137 Main Street, Belgrade, ME 04917. Here, we will board the 7 Lakes Alliance Floating Classroom (22 ft pontoon boat), and venture out onto Hoyt Island.
Event Policies:
- We ask everyone attending 7 Lakes Alliance events to treat people, plants, and animals with respect.
- 7 Lakes staff may be taking pictures during this event. If you would not like to be photographed, please let staff know during the event or contact staff ahead of time.
- Pets will not be allowed at this event.
- Safety is our primary concern. If you are acting in an unsafe way, 7 Lakes Alliance will ask you to leave the event.
