Come on down to our Quill Hill Preserve for a family-friendly day of cross-country skiing!
Come on down to our Quill Hill Preserve for a family-friendly day of cross-country skiing (or snowshoeing)! Chat with 7 Lakes Alliance staff by the fire pit, and drink some hot cocoa to warm up between laps. This is the perfect time to dust off your winter gear, enjoy conserved land, and meet some of the 7 Lakes Alliance team! Please note, gear is not provided.

Contingency Plan: This event will be rescheduled for February in the event of poor weather or not enough snow on the trail. Register for this event to get updates on event details.
Meeting Location:
Parking is limited at the Quill Hill trailhead, so we are asking folks to park at the Rome Corner Park & Ride located on route 27 just south of the intersection of routes 27 & 225. From here, 7 Lakes Alliance staff will shuttle folks to the Quill Hill trailhead (approx. 0.5 miles).
The Quill Hill trailhead is located at 25 Drury Lane, Rome. Drury Lane is just north of the intersection of Rt 27 & Rt 225 (Rome Corner). Head south on Drury Lane for 0.2 miles where you will see a blue 7 Lakes Alliance sign on the left. See attached map below for details.
Ski Route Description:
The ski loop will start at the Quill Hill parking lot and follow the border of the Blaisdell Preserve for an approximately 0.5 miles loop around the flat field. A shorter inner loop will also be created, perfect for beginners or young kids. The loops will be packed down by 7 Lakes Alliance staff ahead of time to make for a good surface.
